BRIEF 5 - Art and Graft branding

September industry's really simple and inspiring branding for Art and Graft. This caught my eye for its use of a symbol as a logo instead of a typographic based identity. The briefs I've worked on so far have all been typographic with the identity and for the found and bound brief I'd like to look more at using a symbol to brand the products.

I'm particularly interested in using print a little as possible in this brief but still use print and craft as the bulk of the practice. This could be resolved through using rubber stamps instead of cartridge printers and wax seal stamps, possibly even exploring the uses of lettraset rub on fonts.

Another nice touch about this branding is that they found some old used postcards, some of which date back to 1901, and incorporated them in the design of the flyers and mail outs. This has made me think more about what I can use as a found material for making the books. There is much more than just the left over stock and scraps from others and my own briefs.
