FMP PROPOSAL - group tutorial

This is the first tutorial for my FMP which I thought I had to prepare some work for to show the direction of my proposed briefs, however, it turned out to be more of a discussion of the briefs and an overview of what each of us want to do in general for our FMP.

As we went round the group it became clear that most of us including myself hadn't considered the audience for each brief which I feel is one of my down falls when designing. I will always have to design for an audience so I need to consider it more when proposing and writing my briefs.

Discussing my briefs with the group was easy as I've considered each one and developed ideas for them all and they are all agreed to fit together and make a well rounded FMP. However, there was a slight issue with my proposed brief to brand Brett's fish and chip restaurant. Because the restaurant is already successful it was argued that it didn't need any work doing in the ways of branding. I don't quite agree with this but I'm going to do some more research into the restaurant and find out what it's really about and if it turns out that there is no reason for me to go ahead with the brief then I will put it to one side and propose something else.

When talking to the group I often ramble on too much and my discussion is a bit disjointed causing some people to stop listening properly so I'm going to try and be more clear and concise in these kinds of tutorials and crit sessions.

Things to consider for the Individual tutorials:

   - is it a substantial amount of work?
   - is the research their?
   - what is it that you're doing?

Also look into Village bookstore in Leeds Corn Exchange and Leeds Book Fair. The dates and information for the book fair have yet to be released and it may be the case that it's not going ahead this year. If so then I will search for of means of distribution for my Found & Bound brief.
